Meet Our Team

Senior Pastor
Pastor Lowell Busman
Lowell has served as a pastor at River of Hope since 2008. Lowell was raised in a Christian home and became a believer at a young age. After a career in agricultural and environmental science, he felt God calling him to full-time ministry. After completing a degree from Bethel Seminary, he and his wife Carol became part of the ministry team at ROH. They have two wonderful children and six grandchildren. Lowell has a passion for prayer and revival, and for raising up the next generation to lead the church forward.

Worship Director
Jonny Maxcy
Jonny grew up in Western Nebraska (think Oregon Trail--Chimney Rock.) He comes from a line of Methodist Circuit Riders (on both sides of his family.) He came to Christ from a new age background and has served in full-time ministry across the Twin Cities in various House of Prayer type ministries. Jonny also does short-term "musicianary" work in the Middle East. He started attending ROH church in May 2020. Jonny is passionate about being a host for God's manifested glory for our whole city -- whether in leading worship, intercession, inner healing, or the arts. He has a deep appreciation for the freedom he has experienced in his struggles with brokenness and is passionate about others finding the same in God's presence. Jonny also makes a mean cup of joe and loves his orange tabby tom cat.

Children's Director
Charlene Randall
Charlene grew up in rural South Dakota, coming to Christ at an early age through the influence of family and church. There were urban missionaries on both sides of her extended family who influenced her lifelong love for the city. From the ups and downs condo life; to the richness of urban artistic opportunities; to the variety of people and cultures present; since 2008, there has been no place like Prospect Park in Minneapolis for her as there is no place like home. Currently Charlene is leading efforts to develop the Children’s Ministry at River of Hope including Sunday Morning Children’s Time. She is also keenly interested in launching an Awana Club at our new facility. If Awana in Prospect Park interests you, please contact Charlene.

Pastor
Cyrus Munson
Cyrus is originally from Minnesota and has lived with his wife Coco in Saint Paul since 2019. He is passionate to be a faithful steward of the faith and traditions of the apostles of Jesus, building a community that proclaims the wisdom of God in Christ crucified and is eagerly awaiting His soon return. He loves hanging out with friends, playing music, learning languages, and connecting with people from all over the world. Cyrus is an alumni of the University of Minnesota and is presently pursuing a master's of divinity from Talbot School of Theology.

Pastor
Trevor Thompson
Trevor Thompson is a Husband to one wife and Father of 2. He grew up in Blaine Minnesota and now lives in Circle Pines. Since he was a young boy, Trevor believed that Jesus died to pay for His sins. He prayed almost every night but wasn’t part of a church or bible study until he sought that out in Highschool. He started to respond to Jesus more faithfully as his Lord through college. Since graduating college in 2017 Trevor has placed himself under Godly authority and in service to the body of Christ and the lost, especially through Prepare Ministries and Stadium Village Church. Trevor currently serves in a pastoral role at River of Hope Church as the staff elder overseeing Discipleship and Outreach at ROH. Trevor is passionate about connecting people to a life giving relationship with Jesus, equipping them to grow in that relationship and then empowering them to reach others for Jesus.

Church Technical/Online Ministry Director
Epiphanie Passah
My name is Epiphanie, and I grew up in a small town in Togo, West Africa, where my faith was shaped early on by my parents, family, and local church. Eight years ago, I moved to the U.S. and spent time searching for a church that truly felt like home—until I found River of Hope.
Being here has rekindled my devotion to serve in the house of the Lord. I’m grateful for the opportunity to give my time, creativity, and heart to God’s work—especially through the media team, where I mostly serve. Whether behind the scenes or in prayer, I’m passionate about creating space for others to experience God’s presence.
